$225,000 Settlement for Premises Liability / Lead Poisoning

Richard J. Villanova represented a little girl (now 10 years old) and her family in a Union County premises liability claim surrounding the ingestion of lead paint chips. Richard secured Health Department documents in support of the environmental exposure. As a result of the lead poisoning , the girl suffers from cognitive deficits, which the defendants claimed were a result of her growing up in a bilingual home, with parents who did not have any higher education. The defendant owners also asserted that they were not given any notice of the condition (a requirement normally needed to support a meritorious claim of this type). Despite the significant causation and liability issues associated with this case, Richard was able to settle the claim pre-suit for $225,000.
