$1,175,000.00 Recovery – Premises Liability – Ruptured Globe Injury To Eye

A 79 year old Union County woman recently settled her claim against her landlord/property manager and a landscape contractor arising out of a trip and fall incident at the multiple dwelling apartment building where she resided with her husband.

Due to uneven risers in an exterior set of steps leading from the parking lot to her apartment, the woman was caused to trip and fell headfirst into a shrub that had an improperly cut, protruding stub arising out of its branches. The stub made contact with the woman’s right eye, rupturing the globe of the eye, resulting in a loss of vision.

Blume Forte partner Michael Zerres settled the case on behalf of the plaintiff.
