$240,000 Settlement for Soap-Filling Machine

Blume Donnelly associate Jeff Zenna represented a 50-year-old machine operator who was filling cardboard cartons with soap. While trying to clear a jam his hand was caught in the machine, resulting in a crush-type injury. Despite being designed with a guard, the machine was not properly protected at the time of the accident, resulting in product liability on behalf of the employer, manufacturer and seller, who despite all being uninsured, each contributed to the settlement.
