$450,000 Settlement for Lead Poisoning / Brain Injury

Blume Donnelly principal David Fried represented a child and his family with regard to this case of lead poisoning from lead-based paint exposure/ingestion. The child, prior to lead being found in his blood, was diagnosed as severely autistic. The defense claimed all of his deficits were from autism, and not due to lead toxicity. David argued that the boy’s symptoms were not consistent with autism, but were as a result of the lead paint exposure, or, at the very least, his limitations from his underlying autism were significantly exacerbated by the brain injury caused by the lead exposure. This case settled for $450,000.
