$650,000 Settlement for Negligently Performed Surgery

David Fried represented a man who had a nodule on his neck that caused limited pain. The defendant doctor recommended surgery to remove the nodule. At surgery, the mass, which was benign, was intertwined within the brachial plexus nerve complex which controls shoulder, arm, wrist, hand, and finger movement. The surgeon did not use appropriate microsurgical technique and caused nerve injuries, which significantly reduced arm function. Our client, who is in his early 60s, was not employed at the time.
