$1,000,000 Settlement for Failure to Timely Diagnose Cervical Cancer

Carol Forte represented a woman whose diagnosis of her cervical cancer was delayed. The defendants’ office failed to schedule a follow up appointment to do a repeat PAP smear eight weeks after she delivered a baby. A repeat was necessary after delivery due to a questionable result on a PAP smear taken during the pregnancy. Fifteen months later the patient was diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer. Ms. Forte settled this claim for one million dollars.
