$2.1 Million Settlement for Medication Error

After a 2½ week trial, Mitchell Makowicz, Jr. secured a $2.1 million settlement on behalf of a 67-year-old woman. The woman’s cardiologist and a nurse failed to give her an aspirin to prevent her blood from clotting during an angioplasty she underwent for coronary artery disease. The woman suffered a heart attack, required a heart transplant, and lost all of her toes due to gangrene.
