$1.325 Million Settlement for Scissor Lift Accident

Blume Donnelly partner David Fried obtained a significant settlement on behalf of a a construction worker injured on the job. The man, working as an insulator, was operating a scissor lift 25 feet above the ground. Due to the absence of a “pothole protector” on the scissor lift, it toppled when crossing a defect in the floor, causing the client to fall. The man sustained a fractured leg and ankle, requiring multiple surgeries, and, was confined to a wheelchair for almost one year. In addition, he may require future ankle fusion surgery, now walks with a cane for extended trips, and, has been unable to return to employment as a construction worker. Mr. Fried recovered $1.325 million on behalf of the client.
