$235,000 Settlement for Motor Vehicle Accident

The firm represented a middle-aged man who was involved in a motor vehicle accident with another car that went through a stop sign. Our client sustained significant injuries to his shoulders. The injury occurred while the plaintiff was in the course of his employment with a public entity and as a result there was a large workers’ compensation lien held buy a public Joint Insurance Fund (“JIF”) which had a policy not to compromise cognizable workers’ compensation liens. The firm was successful in resolving the case for $235,000, and was able to convince the JIF to significantly reduce its workers’ compensation lien, netting his client an additional monetary recovery.
