$475,000 Settlement for Pedestrian Knockdown

David Fried represented a man who was struck by a car when he was crossing a street while the car was making a left turn onto that street. Our client was in the crosswalk, but the defendant claimed the man was crossing in the middle of the block, 20 feet further down the street, based on where our client landed after being struck. In fact, our client ended up further down the street because the defendant dragged him after the impact. The man sustained a tibial fracture (lower leg), requiring surgical intervention and the placement of hardware. He was out of work for approximately five months, and is now limited in various activities, such as sports. The available defendant’s insurance policy was $500,000, and David obtained a $475,000 settlement.
