$1,185,000.00 Settlement for Police Officer injured in Intersection Collision/ Multiple Shoulder Surgeries

Ken Elwood represented a 45 year old police officer who was injured in an intersection collision with a motorist who disregarded a stop sign. The plaintiff, who was on duty at the time, had just recovered from shoulder surgery one year prior to this accident and as a result of this accident required three additional shoulder surgeries over the ensuing 18 months. He was left with permanent loss of function and strength in his shoulder , and faces the prospect of possible shoulder replacement surgery in the future .

The settlement involved the repayment of $95,000 to the employers workers compensation carrier for medical bills and permanent disability provided to the plaintiff.
