$600,000 Recovery for Bicycle Defect Resulting in Multiple Injuries

A South Jersey woman recently received a $600,000.00 settlement following a bicycle accident in which the front fork inexplicably collapsed, causing her to be thrown forward over the handlebars and onto the pavement.

Resulting injuries included five fractured ribs, a sinus bone fracture, left orbit fracture, fractured zygoma a fractured radius, and, a cranial nerve palsy effecting the left eye.

Expert analysis of the bicycle’s front fork revealed a flaw in its manufacture, causing it to be susceptible to failure. In fact, the fork fractured at the location of the manufacturing defect.
