$2.4 Million Settlement – Workplace Accident

Mitchell Makowicz, Jr. represented an injured client as the result of a workplace accident at a mechanic’s garage. A 26-year-old diesel mechanic was injured when a component of a boom crane truck unexpectedly actuated during repairs, crushing both of his arms. Plaintiff alleged that he instructed the truck operator to turn off power to the crane but, for whatever reason, the driver failed to comply with the instruction. The accident resulted in compartment syndrome bilaterally. Plaintiff underwent seven surgical procedures on his arms and has been left permanently disabled. Settlement was $2,400,000.
