$1,019,000.00 Recovery — Subdural Hematoma Injury

Blume Forte partner Michael B. Zerres recently obtained a $1.019 million recovery for an Essex County man who was injured when a box truck backed into him causing his head to make contact with the inside of his vehicle. He sought treatment with a local chiropractor for neck pain and headaches. Despite multiple visits where he relayed a complaint of headaches, the chiropractor only provided adjustments and did not refer the client for head imaging.

Approximately 2 months after the accident, admission to the hospital was required for worsening headaches. CT imaging revealed a subdural hematoma which had to be surgically removed.

Blume Forte partner Michael Zerres represented the client in his claim for both a delay in diagnosis causing his original accident injury to worsen and for his subdural bleed to increase in size to the point where surgery was required.

A total settlement of $1,019,000.00 was obtained from the chiropractor and box truck driver.
