$1,900,000 Settlement for Emergency Room Negligence

The firm negotiated a $1.9 million settlement on behalf of a now 60-year-old woman who became an incomplete quadriplegic when the physicians treating her failed to obtain an MRI, diagnose an epidural abscess with cord compression, and transfer the patient over an eight-hour period of time following her presentation in the late evening to the Emergency Room of a local Hospital with complaints of severe neck pain of one week’s duration. The woman had to be transferred to another area hospital for surgery to decompress the spinal cord but as too much time had elapsed between diagnosis and transfer, she remained quadriplegic.
