$890,000 Settlement for Medical Malpractice / Wrongful Death

The firm secured a settlement with a present value of $890,000 on behalf of a widow and her two infant children whose 42-year-old husband and father died when healthcare providers failed to appreciate the significance of the decedent’s abnormal vital signs following surgery. Post-operatively, the nursing staff did not appreciate, nor report to any physicians, the decedent’s low blood pressure, lethargy and decreased oxygen saturations. The decedent developed respiratory distress which led to cardiopulmonary arrest, and ultimately, to his death.
