$355,000 Settlement for Construction Accident

Blume Donnelly partner David M. Fried represented a construction worker at a renovation site in Hoboken, New Jersey. The man was standing on a flat roof, one story above ground. Co-workers were passing very long beams up to him using a rope & pulley system. His job was to guide the beams from the edge of the flat roof in toward the upper floors and prevent the beam from striking the structure. There had been a guardrail at the edge of the flat roof prior to this work, but it was taken down for this task — and our client was not given alternate fall protection. He fell, fracturing both legs. Although he healed well, he was still required to be in a wheelchair for approximately three months.
