$210,000 Settlement for Attorney Injured in Drunk Driving Accident

A Manhattan attorney suffered four fractured ribs, a broken ankle, and displaced sternum as a result of an accident when her date plowed his car into the back of a New Jersey Transit bus.

The driver claimed that the bus was backing up in traffic at the Weehawken entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel. The driver later pleaded guilty to drunk driving charges at Weehawken Municipal Court and New Jersey Transit was found not to be at fault.

Blume Donnelly attorney Ronald Goldfaden represented the woman who was hospitalized for six days and unable to work for three months.

The offer of settlement prior to the trial was $55,000 The jury awarded the woman $210,000.
