Valley National Bank Sponsors Walk, Raises More Than $80,000 for Breast Cancer Research

According to an article posted on NJ.com, Valley National Bank hosted its fourth annual Valley Goes Pink! breast cancer walk on Saturday, October 6, 2012 in Wayne, New Jersey. Over 1,000 Valley National Bank employees, friends, and family members walked to raise funds to benefit the Cure Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF), an organization that supports Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center’s Research Department.

In the last four years, Valley National Bank has raised close to $400,000 in support of breast cancer research. This year’s event, which raised more than $80,000, featured a 50/50 raffle, prize drawings, games, and food and drinks. Mr. “G.,” a popular New York radio and television meteorologist, also attended the event.

According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States and will be responsible for approximately 39,510 deaths in 2012.
