Prestigio Office Chairs Recalled Due to Fall Hazard

True Innovations, LLC, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), is recalling approximately 8,400 Prestigio high-back leather chairs due to a fall injury hazard posed by a defective seat plate.

The office chairs were sold exclusively at Office Depot stores across the nation, and on their website for approximately $250 from October 2008 through February 2011.

Office Depot has received 78 reports of incidents where the seat plates broke, including one which resulted in a fall injury.

The recalled Prestigio high-back leather chairs have a five-leg base with casters in metallic finish and were sold in black. The words “Prestigio High-Back Chair Black Leather” and “Realspace Soho” and the SKU number 181-265 may be found on a label on the seat’s underside.

Consumers should contact True Innovations immediately for a seat repair kit at no cost. The kit includes an installation tool and a replacement seat plate. Consumers may call True Innovations at (800) 379-9773.
