$750,000 Settlement - Medical Malpractice - Misdiagnosis of Uterine Cancer Resulting In Unnecessary Hysterectomy

  • Date: Winter 2009
  • Attorney: Carol L. Forte
  • Settlement: $750,000
  • Practice Areas: Medical Malpractice, Misdiagnosis, Uterine Cancer, Unnecessary Hysterectomy

Carol Forte represented a 50 year-old woman who was told she had uterine cancer, and a total hysterectomy was recommended. The pathology results on the uterine tissue obtained during the hysterectomy proved that the woman never had cancer. As a result of having her uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries removed, the woman suffered from premature menopause, and needed to take hormone replacement therapy.
