Motor Vehicle Accident - Pedestrian Knockdown

  • Date: Winter 2007
  • Attorney: Ronald Goldfaden
  • Settlement: $450,000
  • Practice Areas: Motor Vehicle Accident, Pedestrian Knockdown

A $450,000 settlement was reached for a teenager who was struck and seriously injured by an automobile while he was crossing the street with a group of friends. The young man sustained bilateral fractures to his legs which required surgery, as well as a closed head injury. He missed almost one year of studies and has some cognitive deficits. Although evidence revealed that he may have crossed the street against a red light, Mr. Goldfaden was able to show that the elderly defendant failed to make proper observations, and that he should have seen the other teens cross the street ahead of the young man even though our client was wearing dark clothes.
