Four Injured in New Jersey Truck Accident

Four people were injured when a delivery truck rear-ended an SUV on Delilah Road in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. A 33-year-old man operating the delivery truck struck the SUV and pushed it into traffic where it collided with a second SUV. All three drivers involved, and a 77 year old passenger in the first SUV, were injured in the crash. Rescue workers had difficulty freeing the elderly passenger from the vehicle. Press of Atlantic City.com reported that the driver of the delivery truck was cited for careless driving.

When large vehicles, such as trucks are involved in accidents with passenger vehicles, it often results in serious injuries to the occupants of the smaller vehicles. The collision in the report described here is an example of how occupants of even larger passenger vehicles, such as SUVs, can sustain significant injuries when struck by a larger truck. Truck accidents can result in catastrophic injuries including those to the brain and spinal cord, bones, and other internal injuries; however, the full extent of the injuries in the Egg Harbor accident were not reported.

One of the biggest challenges victims are faced with in the aftermath of a truck accident is dealing with insurance companies.
