New Jersey Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Client on Uninsured Motorist Claim

Blume Donnelly partner John Molinari was successful in convincing the New Jersey Supreme Court to overturn the decisions of the trial court and a unanimous Appellate Panel and find that his client, a Jersey City police officer, was entitled to uninsured motorist benefits. This decision changed the law in New Jersey with regard to injuries sustained by intentional acts of drivers. It has opened to door for many other plaintiffs with similar claims to recover money from their insurance policies that they purchased to protect themselves from motor vehicle injuries that were not their fault. Shaw v. City of Jersey City. 174 N.J. 567.
