J.
Andrew Velez is an experienced plaintiff's personal injury lawyer
who joined Blume Goldfaden in 2006. With more than 19 years of
legal experience, he has successfully represented hundreds of
clients in personal injury cases including, automobile/truck/bus
accidents, bicycle/motorcycle accidents, fall downs, dog bites,
food poisoning, wrongful death, and cases involving paralysis,
brain damage, burns, disfigurement, and the Dram Shop Act.
Some of Andrew’s prior successes include:
Arbitration Award $1,500,000: Andrew represented a client who
fractured his spine. The client became a quadriplegic when an
unidentified motorist changed lanes and hit the client’s
vehicle causing it to veer off the road and hit a pole.
Jury
Award $217,900: Andrew represented a client who was rear-ended.
Her vehicle suffered very minor property damage but she nevertheless
required two surgeries to her knee and back three years post accident.
The insurance company denied her claim as not related because
of the minor damage to the car and that the surgeries were too
remote in time.
Andrew
is a graduate of Northeastern University School of Law (J.D. 1985)
and SUNY College at Old Westbury (B.A., cum laude 1982). As a
law student, he completed two federal judicial clerkships for
the Honorable Robert W. Sweet and the Honorable Mary Johnson Lowe.
He
is a member of the New Jersey Bar Association, the Hispanic Bar
Association of New Jersey, and ATLA-NJ. Andrew Velez has been
approved by the Hudson County Civil Arbitration Committee to be
on the Superior Court list for the Mandatory Automobile Arbitration
Program. |
