$200,000 Recovery for Miter Saw Victim Following Trial and Appeal

Summer 1999Mr. Mahoney won the first liability verdict nationwide against a particular Japanese miter saw manufacturer in 1997 before a Bergen County jury. Disappointed with a low damages award for a partial thumb amputation, Mr. Mahoney appealed and won a reversal and remand for a new trial on damages only. The case settled shortly before its retrial in the summer of 1999 for the sum of $200,000.
