Hockey Accident Results in Paraplegia Injury and
$2.85 Million Dollar Settlement
Attorney
- Michael Zerres
Settlement: $2.85 Million
Fall 2006
A 38 year old man received a $2.85 million dollar
recovery after suffering an injury to his thoracic spine resulting
in paraplegia after playing a pick-up hockey game at the Wall
Sports Arena. It was claimed that the ice on the rink was not properly maintained and had numerous ruts, one of which caused
the player to lose his balance, fall, and then strike into the
“boards” surrounding the perimeter of the rink.
The matter settled after mediation. The client was represented
by Blume Goldfaden Partner, Michael B. Zerres.
