Settlement:
$400,000.
Summer 2006
Attorney: Jeffrey Zenna
Jeffrey
Zenna, represented a little girl in this medical malpractice case, whose brachial plexus injury was caused by the negligence
of an obstetrician. The obstetrician applied too much force
to her head and neck during her delivery. A shoulder dystocia
was encountered during delivery (where the shoulders get
"stuck"), and the proper maneuvers were not utilized
to free the impacted shoulders. The injury to the brachial
plexus nerves controlling shoulder, arm, wrist and finger
function resulted in a permanent though mild Erb's Palsy.
Jeffrey Zenna settled this case for $400,000.
