FAILURE OF DOCTOR TO RECOMMEND COLONOSCOPY RESULTS IN $1 MILLION SETTLEMENT

Attorney - Ronald P. Goldfaden
Winter 2005

A settlement was reached by the family of a 64 year old man who died of colon cancer.

The medical malpractice claim was brought against the man's family physician who had treated him for many years.

The evidence revealed that the man had a family history of colon cancer and that under those circumstances, the physician was required to do screening for the disease, including a colonoscopy, starting when the man was 50 years old. This was not done and by the time the colon cancer was finally diagnosed, it was at a late stage and had metastasized to the man's other organs.

Blume Goldfaden partner, Ron Goldfaden, settled the matter for the man's family.
