| Attorney
- Ronald Goldfaden Fall 1996 A 69 year old woman regularly visited her podiatrist to have her toenails cut and calluses scaled from the bottom of her feet. After many years of treatment, a callus on one foot suddenly turned dark blue, began to bleed and would not heal. Instead of sending his patient for a biopsy of the misdiagnosed "callus," the podiatrist continued treatments. Nearly a year later a different physician ordered a biopsy of the "callus" which turned out to be a malignant melanoma. This cancer spread and the woman died two years later. Blume, Goldfaden principal Ronald Goldfaden obtained a $200,000 settlement on behalf of the woman's estate. |
