Kenneth Elwood handled a case brought by an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) against a nursing home when she was assaulted by a resident that the nursing home knew was violent. This resident had been transferred out of the facility to hospitals on several prior occasions for assaulting other residents, but was always accepted back. The nursing home never advised the police or EMTs about this, and while responding to the 3rd call in a month, our client was punched in the face and fell, suffering a fractured nose and a torn meniscus in her knee, both requiring surgery. Ken Elwood was able to settle this matter for $375,000.
