DELAY AT HOSPITAL

Attorney - John Blume
Spring 1992

Blume Goldfaden won a jury verdict totalling $1.42 million in a medical malpractice action on behalf of a 40-year old man whose serious injury was not treated in a timely manner by a hospital staff physician.

Attorney John Blume argued that although the admitting nurse recognized a neurological problem resulting from a blow to the patient's head, more than one hour elapsed before the physician attended the patient. A neurosurgeon was thus unable to completely perform a necessary procedure, resulting in permanent brain damage.
