The obstetrician
for an African-American couple failed to screen the pregnant mother
for Sickle Cell Anemia in a recent case handled by Dennis Donnelly.
Her internist also failed to perform this screening test which
is readily available and which is standard medical procedure during
a pregnancy.
Dennis argued
that the testing would have shown the baby was suffering from
this condition, and that corrective steps could have been taken
in time.
Dennis obtained
a $600,000 settlement for the parents. |
