Won a $3 Million Settlement for Failure to Provide Adequate Care to a Baby, Born Prematurely

Attorney - Carol Forte
Spring 2002

The baby developed hydrocephalus -- acute enlargement of the head -- that should have indicated to doctors a case of meningitis.

"The plaintiff in this case is now 20 years old," says Forte. "We may be able to bring a case even when someone might think that the statute of limitations has long expired. This baby's mother abandoned her and she was raised by a succession of relatives. She eventually came under the care of a cousin, who decided to contact an attorney when the client was already 17 years old."
