He was standing above the area where he was cutting, and after the hole was cut, he fell through it because he was not properly tethered to prevent his fall in the area where he stood . The man suffered from right and left lower leg fractures, and a fractured left knee which required surgery and hardware placement. Though the man had a good recovery from his injuries, David Fried was still able to settle this case for $300,000.
