Villanova represented an unemployed woman in her early 40s who was injured when the taxi, in which she was a passenger, was struck by a tractor-trailer. Our client sustained two herniated lumbar discs requiring surgery two years after the accident. The woman had degeneration and other conditions of the lumbar spine, which the defendants asserted were from her age and from an injury sustained in a prior motor vehicle accident. As the woman was unemployed, a claim for lost wages could not be made. Despite the significant causation and damage issues associated with this case, Richard was able to settle the claim for $240,000. |
