A 64-year-old teacher crossing a street in Montclair, N.J. was struck by a bus and thrown into the air. She suffered serious head injuries and a loss of taste and smell.

Following a one-month hospitalization and rehabilitation for her closed head injuries, she returned to work, but soon found she was unable to continue teaching.
