Fall From a Balcony - Spinal Fractures Requiring Surgery Appellate Division Affirms Jury Award

In November 2004 Mitch secured a jury verdict for a woman locked out on the balcony of a friend’s 2nd floor apartment because of an improperly installed security bar on a sliding door. Attempting to climb down, the woman fell, sustaining multiple injuries including a spinal fracture requiring surgery. The jury awarded $825,000. and the case was appealed by the defendant. The Appellate Division recently issued their opinion affirming the jury verdict award, plus interest.
